Unofficial ticket sites in Barcelona: how to spot them and what to do if you already paid

In short: plenty of sites with "Sagrada Família" or "tickets" in the domain are not official. They add a management fee and often refuse refunds. Type the official address yourself and compare the price before you pay.

ⓘ Notice: we are not an official site We are not the official website of any monument, nor any of the sites named here. Independent guide based on public sources; some links are affiliate links (GetYourGuide, Tiqets, Headout).

What these sites are

The top results for "Sagrada Família tickets" aren't always official. Several buyers say on Trustpilot that a sponsored ad sitting above the official site took them to a reseller. Three kinds of site turn up:

  • Resellers with a management fee. They obtain a real ticket and charge a service on top. They admit it in their legal terms, rarely on the home page.
  • Guide sites that pass you to a platform. They don't sell anything themselves: they send you to GetYourGuide, Viator or Tiqets and you pay the platform's price. entradas.barcelona belongs here too, which is why we always show the official price alongside.
  • Fake sites. They copy an official shop to take your money or card details. In August, as reported by Bitdefender citing the APD agency, the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) warned of fake sites selling Sagrada Família and Montserrat tickets; in May the Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia had warned of fake Bad Bunny concert tickets.

The negative reviews share themes: buyers who thought they were on the official site, totals far above the box-office price, charges for children who go in free (sagradafamiliatickets.org), late tickets or the wrong time slot, and refused refunds. barcelonatickets.org replies that its site says it is not the official box office and that its tickets are genuine.

Guide sites such as tickets-sagradafamilia.co, sagradatickets.com or sagradafamiliatickets.info charge nothing themselves: they send you to GetYourGuide, Viator or Tiqets at the platform's price.

The Sagrada Família rule on resellers

The purchase conditions published on sagradafamilia.org leave little room for doubt:

  • Clause 3.9: the Junta Constructora "shall not accept any Tickets purchased through resell agents".
  • Clause 5.6: it won't handle changes or returns for tickets bought from unofficial intermediaries or distributors; you have to go back to whoever sold them.
  • Clause 9.1: it does not guarantee the authenticity of tickets not bought on its website.
  • Clause 6.1.4: staff may refuse entry if a ticket shows signs of forgery or resale.

The official ticket isn't refundable either, unless an incident blocks access. Buy from a reseller and you stack their fee on a non-refundable ticket, with any problem out of the box office's hands. Park Güell asks visitors to buy "exclusively" on its own site, and its tickets are issued in the visitor's name. More in our Sagrada Família and Park Güell guides.

How to tell the official site in one minute

  1. Read the exact domain, not the logo. Variants on .org, .com, .co or .info with "tickets" in them are not official. Check against the table below.
  2. Skip the "Sponsored" result. Type the address yourself.
  3. Scroll to the footer. Phrases like "management service", "mandate" or "commercial margin" give away a middleman. If no company is named at all, don't buy.
  4. Compare with the official price. If the same ticket, with no guide, costs 30% more or above, you're paying an intermediary's margin.
  5. Be wary of charges for children who go in free. Under-11s at the Sagrada Família and under-7s at Park Güell pay nothing.
  6. Read the cancellation terms before paying. Some resellers rule out changes and refunds entirely.
  7. Check what you receive. A voucher or "pending booking" instead of a QR ticket with date and time means the real ticket hasn't been bought yet.
  8. Treat Instagram or TikTok "tickets" with suspicion. If the place isn't on Google Maps and has no website, don't pay.

Traps offline and on social media

Two sightseeing buses at Plaça de Catalunya, both "official". Barcelona Bus Turístic (TMB) and Barcelona City Tour (Julià and Moventis, also with red buses) leave from the same square at the same price, but a ticket for one is no good on the other. See our Bus Turístic and Barcelona City Tour reviews.
Resold bus tickets with different validity. Bus Turístic tickets run by calendar day, not 24 or 48 hours, even though some resellers sell them that way. Start at 5 pm and it may only last until the service closes that evening.
Tickets sold on board. Staff on Barcelona City Tour buses sell attraction tickets during the ride; one passenger paid €14.40 for a ticket that cost €10 at the door.
Mosaic Beach Club doesn't exist. The viral images are an AI-generated design concept: no address, no website, no Google Maps listing. Anyone selling sunbeds or "tickets" for it is running a scam.
Links you didn't ask for. Catalan authorities advise buying only through official channels and authorised distributors, never from links in emails, text messages or social media.

If you already bought from an unofficial site

  1. Check what you have. A QR ticket with date and time, or a voucher? If it's a voucher, ask the seller for the actual ticket well before your visit.
  2. Read their terms. If they offer withdrawal (barcelonatickets.org allows it up to 14 days before the ticket date), request it in writing.
  3. Keep evidence. Screenshots of the site, the price, the confirmation and the card charge.
  4. No ticket, or an invalid one? Call your bank. Ask for a chargeback on the grounds that the service wasn't delivered. If the site looks fake, block the card and report it to the Mossos d'Esquadra.
  5. File a consumer complaint. If the seller hasn't fixed it within a month, contact the Agència Catalana del Consum (consum.gencat.cat; 012, or +34 932 142 124 from outside Catalonia), a municipal consumer office or a consumer association. If the seller is based in another EU country, the European Consumer Centre in Spain handles it.
  6. Don't panic-buy another ticket. Check first whether the official site still has slots.
09 —

Do the platforms we work with charge more too?

Sometimes, yes. GetYourGuide, Tiqets and Headout, which pay us a commission, sell the basic Sagrada Família ticket from €33.80–37.80 (official: €26) and Park Güell for €20–24 (official: €18). Casa Batlló and La Pedrera cost the same as on their own sites.

What you get for it. Support in your language, guided or combo products and, sometimes, free cancellation. On Tiqets, La Pedrera (sold by the Fundació itself) can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before your slot and the Barcelona Card until the night before, but its Sagrada Família, Park Güell and Casa Batlló tickets are listed as non-cancellable. In high season, when the official site has no slot at your time, platforms may offer guided visits with entry included, at a higher price.

When to buy direct. If your date is fixed and you only want entry, buy the Sagrada Família and Park Güell on their official sites: you save €2–12 per person. The Barcelona Card is also cheaper on thisisbarcelona.com.

When a platform makes sense. When the price is the same, as with La Pedrera on Tiqets, or when you want a guide or the option to cancel. If you choose the Sagrada Família on GetYourGuide (4.6/5 from over 121,000 reviews), Park Güell on GetYourGuide or the Sagrada Família on Headout, do it knowing how much extra you're paying.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if a ticket website is the official one?

Compare the domain with the official list (sagradafamilia.org, parkguell.barcelona, casabatllo.es, lapedrera.com), ignore ads and read the footer: a "management service" or no company name at all means it isn't.

Does the Sagrada Família accept tickets bought on other websites?

Its conditions say it won't accept tickets bought through resell agents and doesn't guarantee the authenticity of tickets not bought on its site. Buying on sagradafamilia.org removes that risk.

What should I do if I overpaid on an unofficial site?

Make sure you hold a QR ticket, not a voucher. Ask for withdrawal if their terms allow it; if the ticket never arrives or doesn't work, request a chargeback and complain to the Agència Catalana del Consum.

Are GetYourGuide, Tiqets and Headout official?

They are not the official box office: they are booking platforms with their own prices, equal to or above the official ones. What they add is customer support and, on some products, free cancellation.

Is Mosaic Beach Club in Barcelona real?

No. The TikTok and Instagram images are an AI-generated design; any sale of sunbeds or tickets for it is a scam.

Why won't the sightseeing bus accept the ticket I bought at Plaça de Catalunya?

It is probably the other company's ticket: Bus Turístic and Barcelona City Tour leave from the same square, but each ticket only works on its own line.

Is entradas.barcelona an official site?

No. We are an independent guide paid by commission from GetYourGuide, Tiqets and Headout, which is why we always show the official price.

Before you pay, compare with the official site

Check the table of official domains and, if you prefer a platform, look at the final price and whether you can cancel.
